A record 203 participants, including 37 children, took part in the 2011 event. Registration was held in Paisano's Pizza on the shores of Teal Lake, with the awards ceremony and annual meeting at Pasquali's.

2011 Fishing Derby Details

The 16th annual Heikki Lunta fishing derby was held from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011. Tickets are available at Buck's Party Store and Holiday Station Store in Negaunee, Wilderness Sports and Holiday Station Store in Ishpeming.

Pre-registration is $5 for adults and $1 for kids 12 and younger; on event day, the charge is $6 for adults and $2 for children. State of Michigan rules and regulations apply and a valid Michigan fishing license is required.

At the event’s 3:00 p.m. conclusion, a variety of prizes in various categories will be awarded in both adult and youth categories in Pasquali's. Same-day registration and weigh-in will take place at Paisano’s Pizza, on the shores of Teal Lake.

All participants are eligible for raffle prizes and all youth participants will receive prizes. Must be present to win!
